Interview with Korseld in Growl Metal Zine (2014)

Swedish melodic death metal with doom attributes. Korseld feel confortable playing slow and heavy melodies accompanied with low gutural voices.

Define Korseld in one tweet (140 characters)
Korseld is a mix of doom- and death metal with a melodic touch and Swedish lyrics on top of it. Not to complex and with a heavy groove.

Whats is the current status of the band from a musical standpoint and why the audiene should give a chance to listening to Korseld
With Jordevandring just released, we are mostly enjoying time now, watching the reveal of our creation and hoping for it to be heard and appreciated. An inherent creativity compels us to create and we have in a small way begun to compose a sequel.

We believe that KORSELD can stand out a bit from the crowd, like a band that has a bit of a peculiar attributes.

How important are the lyrics, tell us the lyrical concept behind the music
The lyrics are important, not least as a starting point in the writing process. They set the mood to the whole. Then it might seem strange for an non-Swedish audience to take part of, but at this point we think that the lyrics has played such a big part in coloring the music that a translated version simply wont do. At the same time, I do hope we will still reach those who aren’t native Swedes, but it admittedly wont be by means of the lyrics per se, at least not primarily.

Thematically the lyrics deals with war and the evil of mankind, but also the more abstract, existential and philosofical.

What are the bands’ aspirations. Where would you like to be in the next couple of years
I hope we will still be making music, and a couple of live performances certainly isn’t out of the picture.

Memento Mori: You can add whatever you consider opportune
Thank you for having us and stay metal!
