Brödraduon komponerar för vita duken

Det har varit tyst en tid kring de musikskrivande bröderna Daniel och Mikael Tjernberg från Örsundsbro. Men nu har de släppt en ny platta The Chronicle of the Black Monks. Det är filmmusik till kortfilmen Svartmunkarnas Krönika, som kommer ut i vår.

Bröderna har arbetat med musiken till filmen under ett års tid. I filmen ses Per Ragnar och Kim Anderzon i huvudrollerna. Daniel och Mikael skrev musiken till filmen utifrån manuset.
– Det är ett tidskrävande jobb och mycket av arbetet har gjorts på distans då Mikael flyttat till Karlstad. Vi skriver partiturer som vi skickar emellan och bollar idéer. Sedan träffas vi i vår studio för att sammanställa arbetet, berättar Daniel.

Klassiskbetonat
Plattan The chronicle of the Black Monks släpptes vid årsskiftet och utgavs av skivbolaget från skivbolaget Waerloga Records.
– Vanligtvis skriver man bara musikfragment till en film men vi har gjort hela kompositionen. Därför kunde vi nu släppa en hel skiva, säger Daniel Tjernberg.
Musiken är, enligt Daniel, svårdefinierad. Men han beskriver den som klassiskbetonad med inslag av renässans och barock.

Vill komponera mera
Musikduon har arbetat tillsammans sedan barnsben. De har spelat i olika band med en mängd olika musikgenres.
– Jag spelar mest klaviaturinstrument och Mikael är multi-instrumetalisten som spelar det mesta, säger Daniel.
Bröderna har tidigare haft framgångar med bland annat skivan Meant For Great Things som släpptes för snart två år sedan samt debutsläppet As The New Dawn Awakes, som också släpptes av stockholmsbolaget Waerloga Records. Duon har uppmärksammats i Japan och Tyskland och har även fått Kulturstipendium av Enköpings kommun. Bröderna har gjort en del spelningar genom åren, bland andra kyrkospelningar med avskalade arrangemang på flöjt och piano.
– I framtiden vill vi komponera mera, men vi har också dragit igång ett jazzprojekt som så småningom också ska mynna ut i något.

The duo has worked together since childhood. They have played in various bands with a variety of music genres.
– I play keyboards and Mikael are multi-instrumetalist who plays the most, says Daniel.
The brothers have a history of successes, including the disc Meant For Great Things, released almost two years ago and the debut release As The New Dawn Awakes, which was released by the Stockholm company Waerloga Records. The duo has attracted attention in Japan and Germany and has also received the Cultural Award Enköping. The brothers have done a few gigs over the years, among other church gigs with pared-down arrangements for flute and piano.
– In the future we want to compose more, but we have also embarked on a jazz project that eventually will lead to something.
